Celebrated sommelier and wine journalist Hervé Bizeul (Best Sommelier in France in 1981) established his estate in the Roussillon in 1998, converting his garage into a small winery for his first vintage. The 27 hectares of vines span 125 tiny sites in several distinct terroirs in Roussillon, some as much as 15 kilometers apart from each other. These carefully chosen plots cover the region’s wide range of subsoils (granite, schist, limestone, pebbles…) and boast vines up to 100 years old.
Hervé’s vision was quickly recognized: he was named Guide des Sommeliers’ “Winemaker of the year” in 2002, Gault et Millau’s “Best Newcomer” in 2003, and Revue du Vin de France’s Number One in Roussillon in 2005. Today the wines are some of the most prized in France and reflect Hervé’s passion and philosophy for life and great wine.
