The Cotswolds Distillery produces world-class small batch whisky, gin and other spirits in the area of The Cotswolds, a region full of rich history, stunning scenery, charming old towns and great hotels and dining.
The Cotswolds Distillery is the brainchild of Dan Szor, a native New Yorker who had been working in finance in London for many years. Seeking to leave behind that world and spend more time in the Cots-wolds with his family, it eventually dawned on him that he could combine his love of whisky with his desire to start a new business.
With the guidance of renowned industry legends Harry Cockburn (former Distillery Manager at Bowmore, with many decades’ experience in whisky making) and Dr Jim Swan (fondly known as ‘the Einstein of whisky’ for his formidable knowledge of the science of distillation and maturation) production began in September 2014. Cotswolds Distillery is situated in the village of Stourton between Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon and uses locally sourced botanicals including Cotswolds lavender and bay leaf for their Dry Gin and Cotswolds-farmed organic barley and pure Cotswolds water for their Single Malt Whisky.
