Yannick Alléno, the gifted, three-star chef, is known for his perfectionism. His cuisine reinvents tradition, blending classicism with modernity. Michel Chapoutier is as dynamic a vintner as there is today in the world of wine. With a shared passion for the terroir, the grape and that perfect food-wine pairing, the Michelin-starred chef and the Rhône Valley winemaker decided they should join forces. The Rhône Valley was the natural choice for their first wine: a Saint-Joseph, followed by a Crozes-Hermitage. Together they purchased two parcels, one each in St.-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage.
The Pic and Chapoutier families have known each other for many years. They come from the same region of France, and share a passion for creating perfect pairings, matching the finest of dishes with the choicest of wines. An ‘oenological’ collaboration between Anne-Sophie Pic and Michel Chapoutier was therefore only a matter of time. Ann-Sophie Pic of the famed 3-star Michelin restaurant in Valence who prefers to be called a cook, shares with the acclaimed winemaker a common quest for high standards, innovation and modernity. The Anne-Sophie Pic & Michel Chapoutier range of wines is a result of this shared passion for the culinary arts.
