Hamakawa Shoten brewery was established in 1904. The current owner is fifth generation of the Hamakawa family. Hamakawa Shoten is located in the town of Tano, on the Pacific coast in Eastern Kochi. The underground water they use as the Shikomimizu originates from Senbon Mountain, which is known as one of the three most beautiful forests in Japan.
They use production methods of ginjo-shu with highly polished rice from Ehime, Kumamoto yeast and low temperature fermentation.
