The Cincinnati International Wine Festival and Ohio Road Show have been a huge success so far! For the trade tastings on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, we had over 600 restaurant and retail buyers. The Grand Tastings Friday and Saturday evening were attended by thousands of consumers. It was hard to move around in the giant ballroom in the Duke Energy Center. Over 1000 wines were tasted by the guests and by the judging panel. Of the medals given by the judges, only three went to French White wines, including… drum roll please…TARIQUET!
During the first tasting on Friday the judges came around and hung the medals on the winning wines – a big medal on the Importer sign, and a smaller one on the winning bottle. After that the DSWS table was packed! Tariquet Classic won the only medal in our area of the ballroom.
Yesterday we moved to Cleveland for the Grand Tasting in the Old State Theater – and the tasting was completely packed all evening, including the dinner last night.
What a weekend!! Today and tonight we move to Columbus for the final event. Much more to come!
